Quick Question for You.

Quick Question for You.

Hi Friend,

I had the tremendous good fortune of being interviewed by Lexi B as part of her yet to be released brand new podcast series.

At the top of the interview, Lexi asked me, “Where do your people come from? I find it has a lot to do with who you are now.”

As I answered Lexi’s question, I noticed how it unlocked something new in me, and how delighted I felt that someone wanted to know me at that deeper level.

Apparently, that question is one of Lexi’s go-to questions.

It’s a signature question.

Another brilliant communicator, Kathryn Janicek, asks, “How do you like to connect with people?” I once observed a group of about 60 people answer that question in ways that were surprising, fascinating, and delightful.

Your thought experiment this week is to imagine yourself as an interviewer (even if you’re not).

What unexpected, interesting question can become your signature question?

As mental fitness strategist Marc Champagne so beautifully teaches, the right questions can truly upgrade our lives.

I would say that at minimum, a good signature question can upgrade your conversations.

And that, my friend, is no small thing.

Shine on,

B

P.S. I’m experimenting with this question:

Who did you want to become when you were a child? Are there any echoes of that early wish in your current life?

Send me your signature questions … I can’t wait to read them!
